Hawaii RX

Eligibility Coverage

The Hawaii Rx Plus is a State-funded prescription drug discount program for Hawaii residents. This program is intended to help residents who do not have all of their drugs paid by an insurance all of the time.

Eligibility

Individuals and families must meet the following requirements:

  • Must be a resident of Hawaii
  • Does not have all of their drugs paid by an insurance all or the time; and
  • Has income up to 350% of the Federal Poverty Level (FPL).

Assets are not considered in determining eligibility to participate in Hawaii Rx Plus.

Coverage

Hawaii Rx Plus recipients will be able to purchase drugs at the same discount that the Department of Human Services pays for Medicaid recipients. Discounts for the drugs will begin the day the Hawaii Rx Plus discount cards are received. Over 90% of the pharmacies in Hawaii are participating in the program.
