The Transitional Medical Assistance Program (TMA) provides continued medical coverage for certain families who become ineligible for medical assistance because of increased earnings or child support. TMA coverage may be provided at no cost for six months, and may continue for a maximum of 12 months for those who lose eligibility due to increased earnings.

Families who lose eligibility because of child or spousal support payments may receive TMA coverage at no cost for four months.
